Our Commitment

The Salifu Dagarti Foundation takes its responsibilities as a licensed lottery operator very seriously. We operate under the Gambling Act 2005 and are committed to upholding the three licensing objectives set by the Gambling Commission: keeping gambling crime-free, ensuring it is conducted fairly and openly, and protecting children and vulnerable people from harm.

Our lottery exists to raise funds for charitable purposes. We never encourage excessive play and we always frame participation as an act of generosity first.

Who Can Play

Our lottery is open to UK residents aged 18 and over only. We carry out age verification checks and reserve the right to request proof of identity and age at any time. Any winnings paid to individuals who are later found to have been under 18 at the time of purchase will be forfeited and donated to charitable purposes.

18+

It is a criminal offence for anyone under the age of 18 to participate in this lottery.

Signs of Problem Gambling

Gambling can become a problem for some people. The following signs may indicate that gambling is causing harm:

  • Spending more than you can afford on the lottery.
  • Thinking about gambling when you should be focusing on other things.
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund lottery tickets.
  • Lying to friends or family about how much you spend on gambling.
  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed when you are not playing.
  • Using gambling to escape from problems or difficult feelings.
  • Continuing to play even when you want to stop.

If any of these apply to you, please seek help immediately. See the Help & Support section below.

Self-Exclusion

You have the right to exclude yourself from our lottery at any time. To self-exclude:

  1. 1Contact us by email at yusif.i@salifusagarti.org and request self-exclusion.
  2. 2We will remove you from our lottery and ensure you receive no further marketing.
  3. 3Self-exclusion is effective for a minimum of 6 months.
  4. 4You can also register with GamStop (gamstop.co.uk) to self-exclude from all online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain.

Setting Limits

We encourage all participants to set spending limits and play within their means.

  • Decide your budget before you play and stick to it strictly.
  • Treat the lottery as a form of charitable giving, not as a route to financial gain.
  • Never play with money intended for bills, rent, food, or other essential expenses.
  • Set a monthly maximum and do not exceed it under any circumstances.
  • Take regular breaks from playing and review your participation periodically.
